As we are standing on what is today truly one of the most historic events in our lifetimes I have several thoughts.
They’re my thoughts and opinions and hope they are relevant and based on truth, not by prejudice or peer influence.
Another question for another day is… is that possible?
-I hope Barack Obama is everything he’s been made out to be
-I / you / we need for him to be that, and even more
-he will face the greatest challenge of any President, I think even FDR
-Barack Obama is now our President
-I don’t like even the whiff of socialism that’s being proposed, it’s dangerous
-our capitalist nature has made us the wealthiest and greatest country on this planet
-we are THE most giving people on this planet
-I don’t care what people are saying, I liked George Bush
-I voted for him 3 times, Governor of Texas and President these United States
-I think he faced daily choices that were really difficult
-I think Barack will face even tougher choices
-I believe to a great extent our lives, destinies, and futures are forged by the choices we make
-I believe the choices of others also affect our lives, futures and destinies
-the right choices are crucial, especially as you get older
-there are far too many among us that are “victims” of our own and others bad choices
-this will be the first President that my 12 year old child will really remember
-assuming he goes 8 years, he will influence her from childhood to adulthood
-she will have the privilege to make a “choice” in 8 years for the next person
-we have taken that “privilege” for granted and cheapened it
-God is still God; Jesus Christ is still His only Son
-He still holds all the rulers of this planet in the palm of His hand
-they would have no power if it wasn’t given by Him
-bad choices make bad rulers, good choices make good rulers
-tough choices can make even bad rulers good rulers

Good thoughts. I voted for President Bush twice (in 2000 and 2004), and I voted for Senator McCain in 2008. I voted for them because I thought that they were the best men to lead our nation at the time. My main reason for voting for Senator McCain this past November is that as a Veteran I fully support our military personnel and the job that they are doing for us overseas in foreign nations – fighting against terror and for freedom. Yes – I know that I am in the minority as a supporter of our military and the ongoing wars.

We recognize your committmit to this country Major and honor it deeply and are indebted to those like you for your service.
I believe the number 1 job of the prsident is to protect us, George Bush did that extroidinarily well. I heard on the Glen Beck show a comment regarding a meeting he was in with other press types and G W. The president said “don’t worry about who will be the next president, when they sit in this chair they’ll have to make the same decisions”.
I think that will become a self fullfilling prophesy of sorts because already we’re seeing Barack taking a more moderate stance. G W insisted he get the same daily security briefings and it’s already starting to show. I think it is a mistake to close GitMo, or dictate to the president what tactics to use to extract information. If it hadn’t been for “waterboarding” the Brooklyn bridge would have been destroyed like the twin towers.
This 4 years will get him re-elected, the following 4 years are what could be scary, he’ll have no restraints.
HOO’RAH Major!
